CJC to help banks take control of their global contributed data

New Regulatory division built around three industry specialists with over 70 years of financial data experience.

CJC, the global financial technology management solutions firm, today announced the formation of a new strategic division dedicated to assisting the banking community address the increasing regulatory challenges around managing and publishing market data.

A key focus for the division is the control of outbound data. Currently, though most banks have robust market data management processes and protocols in place, teams are generally only responsible for inbound consumption. There is a lack of clarity around who takes responsibility for outbound data; begging the question – is there any oversight of global contributed data ?

Industry authority in this space, Sheena Clark, together with data specialists Wendy Cartledge and Judith Humby, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the division covering the securities lifecycle of data, from sourcing through to consumption, across all asset classes.

Sheena Clark commented: “Banks outbound, or contributed, data is not only affected by the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), since MiFID II, MiFIR and BCBS239 all impact pre-trade Over the Counter (OTC) data. Yet many don’t seem to have a clear picture of what prices they contribute, to whom and who can see or use it downstream. Our division can help banks and brokers take control of the prices they publish to the market through data vendors or submissions to benchmark rates.”

Paul Gow, CEO, CJC added: “The expertise of Sheena’s team, allied to our deep-seated technology knowledge of the contributed data space, established reputation for project delivery and global footprint present a real opportunity for us to help clients meet major regulatory challenges. We are already in extensive discussions with a number of tier 1 organisations and look forward to making announcements in the near term.”

Top 10 Global Investment Bank chooses CJC for ITOA

CJC Provides ITOA Visualisations for Top 10 Global Investment Bank with new product, MosaicOA

London – December 5th, 2016 – CJC Ltd, one of the leading managed service and cloud platform technology providers to the global capital markets industry has today officially launched MosaicOA (Open Analytics), a big data visualisation platform delivered and the first release from the Mosaic Suite of products. MosaicOA is now in production at top 10 global investment bank visualising the ITOA for the global market data infrastructure.

CJC have been developing MosaicOA for over 2 years, working closely with the client and it represents their first foray in to the world of products. The solution was developed with software developers Corellasoft and Apogee Software. Clients provide a real-time stream of their infrastructure data from the client datacentre, to the CJC cloud in Equinix. All events are logged for long term analysis, on high performance storage. The visualisation runs on CJC private cloud platform, supported by CJC support teams around the clock to ensure the data has no interruptions. The client then retrieves the data by a browser based front end.

Peter Williams, Senior Technical Director, CJC commented, “The clients monitoring system collects data from standard sources such as CPU, memory etc. As well as collecting health and performance metrics from industry specific components such as Solace, TREP, BPIPE, Corvil etc. Right now, our environment receives over 256,000 separate infrastructure measurements. In order to get a clear and accurate view of the health and performance of real-time market data systems the sample frequency needs to be high, therefore the system generates massive quantities of data every day which we store and visualise for our clients.”

The MosaicOA value proposition is based on the ability to efficiently create clear visualisations from large data sets aligned with costs savings created by migrating the database storage to CJC’s secure private cloud. Due to client internal policy, they cannot be publically named however they are happy to provide a quote and reference upon request.

Client Source: “The MosaicOA system was piloted over the last 18 months and was found to be well ahead of the competition. We have not been required to upgrade or modify our existing infrastructure, nor have we had to have our staff trained in anything but the front end. MosaicOA will assist us in providing a unique insight into how our systems are performing, along with making far more qualified decisions on future technology investments. We are also looking into moving this into visualising into other business areas based on the strength of the front end alone”.

Solace Certification

Market data real-time systems support provider CJC has been certified for their expertise with Solace Systems’ market-leading messaging technology, which can serve as a reliable, robust foundation for real-time market data distribution. Solace trained CJC’s entire technical team on the architecture, capabilities, deployment and administration of Solace technology.

Paul Gow, CJC CEO “This certification is yet another link in the chain to where CJC see the future of infrastructure and data delivery.  Recognition and implementation of Solace is increasing as it offers clients faster network throughput and the ability to reduce their data centre footprint and costs. The demand to support Solace from our clients has quadrupled in the last quarter of 2015 prompting us to seek this certification.  The comprehensive training Solace provided has enhanced our engineering skill sets and added a further offering to our current consultancy and 24/7 support model. This asset is already providing our clients with invaluable confidence in our expertise as they seek to transform and cost cut their market data platforms”.

Gow Continues: “This certification enhances the consultancy and managed services we offer.  In addition, as a certified member of Solace’s partner program CJC can test the virtual Solace appliance in the CJC Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) platform ‘Intelligent Sky’.

Denis King, Solace Systems Senior VP of Field Operations and Alliances: “Our technology has been meeting market data distribution needs for top financial institutions for over a decade. With their deep expertise in real-time market data systems, CJC is uniquely qualified to help capital markets participants employ Solace technology. Global Expansion

Market data real-time systems support provider CJC has completed the expansion and relocation of its global support centres in Hong Kong, London and New York.

Paul Gow, CJC CEO “2015 has been a tremendous year for CJC. The company has added multiple high profile clients to its portfolio and secured the long term renewals of our key client base. Our clients requirements have expanded significantly and In recognition of this and to be able to cope with the increase in demand, CJC has made a substantial investment into all regions, to provide the best facilities for our existing staff and the new recruits who will join us in 2016”.

The expansion includes a 25% growth in our London office space, a consolidation of the 2 Hong Kong offices into a single larger entity, which better facilitates the 40% increase of staffing levels in Asia. The New York operational growth has meant the need for larger offices, so we have relocated to 1 Liberty Plaza in the Financial District.

Gow continues – “Managed services are now in greater demand than ever before. The overhead of internal service delivery to organisations has hit critical mass. Senior managers are discovering that managed service are cost effective, scalable and better run when delivered by CJC. We are consistently delivering what our customers really want ‘a one stop shop solution’. This has also brought to light how our clients can control the use of CJC by placing us under strict SLA’s with regimented KPI’s.
