CJC Helps Investment Bank Modernise its Market Data Systems
Challenge
A leading investment bank wanted to migrate from a legacy market data infrastructure fed by dual data feeds to a new platform and a single feed solution.
Solution
CJC carried out an investigation to assess whether the bank needed a secondary data feed and provide a resilient solution. The study looked at the requirements of the business, the alternatives available and the technical strengths and weakness of the various options.
The following options were considered for the client’s vendor resilience strategy:
• Global backup
• Shared or contended access
• Alternative market data systems
• Web based systems
• Consolidated secondary feed into RMDS
• Direct exchange feeds

Throughout the project, CJC followed a proven methodology. The team began by interviewing key members of staff from the bank’s core business and IT departments. This helped CJC establish the bank’s market data requirements. The team then examined the bank’s existing documentation to understand the history of previous decisions. These details were used to analyse the single vendor’s resilience capability and establish a vendor candidate list.

Next, CJC helped the bank gather technical and commercial information from the shortlisted vendors. This information was used to select the best candidate. CJC then carried out a full implementation.
